# Front of House Release Notes

Front of House uses its own early-playable `0.x` version line. Patch releases
carry compatible fixes. Minor releases add player-facing capability. Save schema
versions are a separate compatibility contract and change only when saved data
requires migration.

## 0.4.4 — 2026-10-28

Playtest fixes from the live 0.4.2 show night.

- Once the wind-down ends, Settle and Done return the lot to day lighting with a settled, representative crowd that never exceeds the signed attendance (split by stage as sold at the festival). The board no longer leaves an oversized crowd standing in a dark lot.
- On phones, the Book, Promote, Settle and Done sheets grow with their content up to the height under the strip, so a short sheet such as Settle leaves the lot visible above it. Nothing scrolls.
- The 2D/3D switch shows both labels and lights the view on screen. It is pressed while 3D is on.
- Save and load is the first section of the Menu. **Download save file** saves the current career as a text file of its save code, and **Load a save file** loads one (a raw save also loads). Save codes still work.
- A PA placed away from the stage says "PA … must touch the stage. Pick a tile right beside the stage." The red ghost says it while you hover, a 3D drag says it on release, and the PA tool stays chosen.
- Cache v92. Rules, balance, money movement and save schema 2 are unchanged.

## 0.4.3 — 2026-10-28

- Save codes capture the current visible career, including progress after browser storage fills up. Previously Export preferred the last stored snapshot, silently losing unsaved progress during recovery.
- Cache v91. Rules, balance and save schema 2 are unchanged.

## 0.4.2 — 2026-10-23

- Settlement Summary includes the artist payment for every deal. A guarantee is labelled **Guarantee paid before doors**, so revenue minus show costs and artist payment visibly reconciles to the promoter result. Combined stage accounts retain the total artist payment and identify a prepaid guarantee when applicable.
- The opening browser test handles an incident that has already hidden Skip. Research reload checks wait for pending preview requests to finish, retaining strict reporting of request failures.
- Cache v90. Rules, balance, money movement and save schema 2 are unchanged. Desktop, physical-phone and listening acceptance remain open.

## 0.4.1 — 2026-10-23

The Lot now sits in gravel and grass beside a service road and loading apron,
with sparse trees and distant industrial silhouettes. A cool dusk gradient and
restrained distance fog replace the flat grey exterior; warm venue lighting
connects it to the opening. The fence remains the playable boundary. Decoration
uses one static vertex-colored mesh plus sky, adds no shadow map, and changes no rules, saves,
camera controls or other rooms. Only the decorative setting uses a fixed half-dimension backdrop; the venue and controls retain native resolution. The Lot asphalt uses subdivided diffuse lighting to retain warm light pools and shadows at lower cost. Cache v89; save schema 2 unchanged.

## 0.4.0 — 2026-10-19

An opening title sequence builds an empty lot into a show using the existing 3D equipment and renderer, then reveals the entry menu. It includes Skip intro, Replay intro, Continue for existing saves, a brief return reveal, reduced-motion presentation, theme controls and optional synchronized synthesized sound. Browsers require a press of Enable sound before audio plays. The classic board remains a fallback. Game rules, costs and save schema are unchanged. A pre-existing short-window Book cutoff at 683 × 384 is also corrected with smaller button padding; text and touch targets retain their size.

Delivery verified on 2026-10-20: [PR181](https://github.com/DaveHomeAssist/mixmash/pull/181), merge `44209d7`, green required CI, successful Pages build 1298868065 and 18 matching hosted runtime files. Fifteen live opening scenarios, 29 player checks, full phone animation/touch, cold offline entry/reload and WebKit phone entry pass. `front-of-house-v0.4.0` identifies the verified deployed merge. Human desktop/physical-phone and listening acceptance remain open.

## 0.3.9 — 2026-10-18

- On a 375px phone the paused Show header fits its plate: the clock's line box now holds the font's full height instead of overflowing by about 2 px, whichever monospace font the device has. Incident choice costs on phones are set slightly smaller so a long cost such as "$125 · not enough cash" stays on one line beside its label, keeping the rain choices inside the peek sheet with room to spare. Layout only: rules, money, strings, balance and save schema 2 are unchanged.
- Cache v87.

## 0.3.8 — 2026-10-18

- Fixes FOH-QA-012. In a zoomed or short desktop window below 1024 × 700 (for example 150% or 200% zoom on 1440 × 900 or 1366 × 768), Promote keeps its action row, including **Open doors**, pinned to the bottom of the sheet. Book lists the acts first and puts each deal button straight under the act's name; the room choice, the intro line and the act details follow below. On very short windows the deal notes shorten to one line and the act art is hidden. Layout only: rules, money, balance and save schema 2 are unchanged.
- Cache v86.

## 0.3.7 — 2026-10-18

- Booked acts now perform on stage with distinct instrumental lineups and existing band colors. The 3D view adds guitars, basses, drums, microphones and keyboards; classic view uses matching performer sprites.
- Festival secondary acts receive their own ensemble. Performers enter at the existing set-start event, disappear outside Show, respect reduced motion and do not affect picking, rules, money or saves.
- Cache v85; save schema 2 unchanged.

## 0.3.6 — 2026-10-17

- Stage and site-equipment cards use the same models as the 3D venue.
- Twelve remaining placeable models now have matching Build and inspection previews.
- Browse Stage & site equipment from the menu or Equipment without placing or buying anything.
- Existing geometry, rules, prices, accounting and save schema remain unchanged.
- Cache v84 includes the card module and previews for the first offline visit after hub installation.

## 0.3.5 — 2026-10-17

- Rental light towers use equipment-library J-Six and Vertigo fixture exteriors.
- Build tools, tower inspection and the Equipment Lighting page share a rendered fixture preview.
- Existing lighting rental, power, quality, house-light behavior and saves are unchanged.
- Fixture appearance is illustrative; it does not establish physical output or control capabilities.

## 0.3.4 — 2026-10-17

- Portable PA rigs use optimized ZLX speaker and EKX subwoofer equipment models.
- Equipment quotes, assignment, Build tools and placed PA inspection share matching model previews.
- Existing placement, purchase, rental, power, capacity, settlement and save rules are unchanged.
- Equipment illustrations are approximate reconstructions, not physical specifications or endorsed configurations.

## 0.3.3 — 2026-10-17

- Fixes FOH-QA-015. The booking confirmation is now a toast over the board that fades, instead of a line in Build's card. At 1024 × 700 the HUD again covers no more than 2% of the lot right after booking. "Nothing is paid until you open the doors" stays on Build's Back button and in Promote beside **Open doors**. Uses cache v82.

## 0.3.2 — 2026-10-17

- Adds anticipatory suggestions that never act for the player. Build outlines the tiles where a gate, exit or PA can go (in 2D and 3D), offers **Pick Exit** when exits cap capacity, names last night's weakest part and rings the tools that help. Book marks the deal used last time and warns about a short guarantee. Promote offers **Same as last time** for price and ads, applied only on a press. Show marks the last response to the same incident, and Done previews the next offers.
- Adds the device preferences key `front_of_house_prefs` (version 1, at most 2 KB), which absorbs the 3D/2D and Dark controls choices. Adds **Suggestions: On/Off** and **Forget suggestions & view settings** to the menu. Phones remember the last tab per phase.
- Game rules, economics, balance baselines and save schema 2 are unchanged; preferences are outside the save. Uses cache v81.

## 0.3.1 — 2026-10-12

- Adds original illustrated band lineups for all eleven acts, venue artwork in booking, and matching illustrations in Promote and Menu.
- Keeps compact artist headers on shorter desktop screens and preserves accessible deal controls in both themes.
- Corrects the catalog detail image: Front of House gameplay replaces the mislabeled MixMash fighter poster, using the canonical PR145 cover and uncropped presentation.
- Uses cache v79. Existing game rules, economics, 3D world and save schema 2 remain unchanged; 0.3.0 venue-scale amenities are retained.

## 0.3.0 — 2026-10-12

- Adds a Bar tent (3×2, serves 1,000) and Restroom block (2×2, serves 500) at Loam Shell and Split Acre, keys A and W. They add to the existing bar and restroom service, so a full house at either venue can now meet its amenity guideline without losing tickets.
- Suggested layouts above the Lot now provide that service at permit capacity: Fathom Hall 94% (its floor limit), Loam Shell and Split Acre 100%.
- Build tools show how many guests each bar or restroom serves. The settlement names the gap and how many of the room's largest unit would close it, instead of quoting Lot rates at every venue.
- Small-unit rates, every Lot result and every layout without the new objects are unchanged. Save schema 2 is unchanged. Uses cache v78, reserved separately from the open v77 candidate.

## 0.2.0 — 2026-10-09

- Adds an explicit Advisory desk check-in with Overview, Ticketing, Talent and Operations pages.
- Explains one current priority using existing evidence, phase/room availability and existing decision or receipt routes. Forecasts, current observations and signed results remain distinct.
- Preserves engine, economics, RNG, save schema 2 and settlement signing. No employees, payroll, autonomous actions or new simulation.
- Uses cache v76, reserved separately from the independent QA candidate v75. Delivery verification is recorded in the maintained project record.

## 0.1.2 — 2026-10-07

Fixes from the 2026-10-07 [QA audit](QA_AUDIT.md). Save schema 2 is unchanged and
existing saves load as before.

- Going Back from Promote and rebooking keeps both Loam Shell ticket prices inside
the room's range, so a reload no longer drops a paid seat-sales contract.
- Lot-only Promote settings (live services, food, facilities) stay on the Lot, so
they cannot block Open doors in another room.
- Start over begins the new career on the Lot even when the last show was in a
later room; a locked room cannot be booked.
- A reload keeps every placed object, including a PA left behind when its stage
was removed, and the 200-show history keeps its show numbers.
- The game starts when the browser blocks site storage, says once when progress
is not being saved, and still offers a save code.
- A second tab follows the latest save instead of overwriting newer progress.

## 0.1.1 — 2026-10-07

- Makes the running Build expense easier to understand as **Show cost so far**,
with its venue-and-equipment scope stated directly in the readout.
- Hides placement tiles outside Build in both the classic and 3D views so Show
reads as an event rather than an editor.
- Guides the first booking toward the complete Suggested layout while keeping
Build available for learning and changes.
- Keeps engine rules, balance, accounting and save schema 2 unchanged.

## 0.1.0 — 2026-10-07

This is the first explicitly numbered Front of House release, not the first
playable build or a 1.0 acceptance claim.

- Opens fresh sessions in the existing 3D venue view. A player who explicitly
chooses 2D or 3D keeps that choice on later visits; 2D remains available.
- Preserves the application-owned classic fallback when WebGL, the renderer
module or a supported 3D room is unavailable.
- Includes the delivered four-room career, live services, equipment, research,
venue operations and the Summary/Ledger settlement design.
- Keeps save schema 2. No engine, balance, career, accounting or saved-game
migration changes are part of this release.

Earlier deployments remain dated, unnumbered project history in
[`progress.md`](../progress.md) and the root [`CHANGELOG.md`](../../CHANGELOG.md).
Human art/camera/career acceptance, supported physical devices, venue
calibration and original-image rights remain open release gates.
